Jedni od velikana norveškog svarta.Iako zadrti blekeri mrze ovaj bend pod izlikom da su se prodali meni je ovo jedan od najboljih black bendova.Nemaju lošega albuma,stvari su im melodične i iznimno slušljive a tekstovi filozofski i dubokoumni.Dimmu Borgir je iznimno talentiran bend daleko ispred svoga vremena.Evo tekst jedne od najljepših pjesama koje sam ikad čuo,jedina black metal balada:

Iako je pretežito slušam death metal nisam mogao odoljeti a da ne napišem nešto o po meni najkvalitetnijem black metal bendu.Iskreno,trebalo mi je jako dugo da mi njihova glazba sjedne jer se radi o jednom dubokom,kompleksnom i progresivnom zvuku koji nije baš tipičan black metal sound.Recimo The Loss And Curse Of Reverence je jedno remek djelo u kojem možemo čuti blast beat,violine i uvrnute riffove i sola.Također mi se sviđaju zbog njihovih tekstova nisu ko 666 drugih black bendova koji će staviti pentagram na coverart samo da bi privukli petnaestogodišnjake opsjednute ''zlom''.Ihsahn je čovjek s vizijom i ovaj je bend razlog zbog kojeg volim black metal.Atmosfera,mističnost,savršenstvo...
